Spirit of 1944 is a guest house like no other near the WWII Landing Beaches, that aims to take you back to the atmosphere of the 40's but with all the modern comforts of the 21st century living during your stay in La Cambe, Normandy,France.
Spirit of 1944 is located in La Cambe, between two former temporary advanced airfields constructed by USAAF’s 9th Air Force during World War 2 in support of the invasion of Europe.
Spirit of 1944 has posters, photos, uniforms, newspapers, various material and accessories from WWII decorate the walls of the farm house, where Glenn Miller’s music plays in the background.
Patricia Kiefer and Laurent Gaudin currently offer two

General Dwight D. Eisenhower

Spirit of 1944 has a comfortable living room and bar where cocktail drinks, local digestives, whiskies, coffee and herbal teas are proposed.
Spirit of 1944 proposes an English-speaking guide to visit the World War II landing beaches and other sites, etc. Each season, new equipment will be proposed. Laurent and Patricia will be pleased to assist you in order to make your stay even more comfortable and enjoyable.

Breakfast
Breakfast is served around a large table in the kitchen or in the courtyard, weather permitting. It includes fresh bread, cereals, pastries, jams, ham, eggs, fruit, as well as cheese and yogurts from the renowned dairy factory of Isigny Sainte Mere, which is only 8km from the house. |
Evening meal
Dinner is available upon request and includes aperitif, a 3-course meal prepared with seasonal products from the local market, and wine. Our specialties are scallops, cabbage stew, and Calvados flambéed shrimps. |
